I knew Doug only in a Library "class".  I also worked with his father in a summer time construction job.  I remember the father as a very nice man, a very gentle person.  Doug from our brief talks was also a nice, kind and gentle person.  Very quiet.  When I look back, Doug seemed maybe a bit too quiet.  He was one of us who was on the outside looking in.   I hate pass on incorrect infomation, however, I believe I heard from his father that he took his own life around the 1969-71 time frame.  I truly wish I could narrow it down better than that.  How sad, it didn't need to happen.   Steve Heil

I was a Pallbear for Dougs funeral along with Jim Martin. Doug developed a Brain tumor. They removed the tumor and things were fine. However then as now the brain is a delacate issue. Doug was told to avoid illness etc. for at least the first year. He got a head cold and it settled in the weak spot in the brain. He went into a coma for a short time and then pass away. He was a Great person moved from Kimball Nebraska to Longmont. His father was a Wheat farmer and Electrical contractor in Nebraska. When they moved to Longmont they were just doing the Electrical contracting business.  A very quit and good soul that passed to soon. Think about him and another classmate of ours that was one of my best friends in High School Roger Andrews quit offen these days.
